Gunter介绍：GS holds a Chair in Biological Psychiatry at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience (IoPPN), King’s College London and is a Honorary Consultant at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM). Before joining the IoPPN in 2005 he trained and worked at Harvard University, University of Freiburg and the Central Institute of Mental Health, University of Heidelberg, Germany. His general research interests are in etiological and diagnostic stratification of psychiatric patients to identify neurobehavioural phenotypes that allow the development of predictive and prognostic biomarkers. His group thus works on the identification of neurobehavioural mechanisms of psychiatric disorders, including addictions. He pursues an interdisciplinary approach, using neuroimaging, functional genetic and epigenetic methods as well as molecular biological and bioinformatic techniques. GS is coordinating a European research project IMAGEN - Reinforcement-related behaviour in normal brain function and psychopathology. IMAGEN is a longitudinal, multi-centre functional and structural genetic-neuroimaging study of a cohort of 2000+ 14 year-old adolescents that investigates the neurobiological and genetic basis of individual differences in brain responses to reward, punishment and emotional cues in adolescents. He also is coordinator of the cVEDA study, a large scale imaging genetics projects that investigates the effect of environmental effects on adolescent brain development and behavior in Europe and Asia.
