Female Germline Stem Cell Culture Training Course

Technical Training

As a the world’s leading Lab for Female germline stem cell (FGSC) study[1-3], our mission is to help and support researchers for their FGSC study in the world.

FGSC training courses provide hands-on training for attendants to learn ovarian dissection, dissociation, and the two-step enzymatic digestion as well as FGSC purification, culture, and transplantation back into mouse ovary. Researchers will give personal instruction and information of FGSC biology, and protocols on the care, maintenance of FGSC, with continued guidance and feedback during and following the training course.

Upon completion of the course, you will have a thorough understanding of FGSC biology and current practices in the field. In addition, you will learn to overcome challenges involved in key stem cell assay procedures and become confident in performing specialized practical germline stem cell techniques in your own laboratory setting. Researchers in field of reproductive biology, or reproductive medicine, or stem cell biology are strongly encouraged.

The Training Course Covers

1. Prepare proper culture medium for FGSCs

2. Culture and preparing of feeder layer

3. Aseptic dissection of mouse ovary

4. FGSC isolation by two-step enzymatic digestion

5. Magnetic purification of FGSCs

6. Culture and proper passaging (splitting) of FGSCs

7. Cryopreservation of FGSCs

8. Transplantation of mouse FGSCs for in vivo assay

9. Post-laboratory Q&A and troubleshooting of techniques

Place for training course

Bio-X Institutes, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China

Duration of training course
